Hi there,
I’m on the road right now and have been for 6 days, speaking at great events around NSW.
I’ve actually been back to speak 3 times with one of the organisations I’ve spoken with since I’ve been away. I must say it’s wonderful to see many people kick on and achieve the goals they’ve set from previous years.
It’s also very humbling to have people come up to me and say they heard me speak last year or 2 years ago, and that something in that presentation helped them transform their lives... and then inspired them to take their business and personal life to a new level.
At the start of this particular organisation’s event, everyone shares a ‘Thought of the Day’. I’ve used the same thought of the day for the last 3 years.
And that thought is by Josh Billings “Consider the postage stamp. Its sole usefulness consists in its ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.”
Which brings me to the first chapter of Think and Grow Rich on Desire: You must have a definite chief aim.
Being clear on what you want is the starting point of all success. And if you get clear, you’ll find it’s so much easier and faster to get to where you want to go. In fact, I would say it’s almost impossible to get there if you’re not clear on where you’re going.
Now interestingly, being at this event for 3 years, I’ve seen the people that have kicked on and been successful in achieving what they want.
They’ve been clear. And those that haven’t been clear are pretty much where they were 3 years ago when I met them.
To this day, 99% of the people I speak with still don’t know where they’re going...
So, what I would suggest is that you sit down and spend some time getting clear on what you want.
Start with the end in mind. Be clear on where you want to end up and what it is you want to achieve.
Set a simple goal or outcome, something small, to prove Napoleon Hill’s principles work. Once you’ve achieved that, sit down and say, “right, what do I really want?”.
That’s when you can really go for it... set out everything you want to achieve and write it down. It’s very important to write this down to give yourself clear direction.
You’ll be amazed at how quickly you get there.
