Greetings from Beautiful Bathurst.
At last I’m home, albeit momentarily.
You may recall, my last week’s success tip was written while on the road.
I spent 8 days speaking around NSW and Victoria, and then 3 days on stage in Melbourne at a truly amazing TGR event, before a late night flight to present again at 7am in Sydney the next morning!
Now I’m not complaining…I love it as I’m getting to fulfill my life’s purpose. Yet many onlookers have seen my ‘sudden’ success and wonder how it has happened.
Well, like all overnight successes, it’s taken 15 years or more!
In fact, I’m of the belief that every day you have lived has contributed to getting you to where you are now.
Many people are waiting for an ‘act of god’, the big ‘lotto win’ or just plain ‘hope’. Understand that everything grows out of your current situation.
Therefore each day is a golden opportunity to change your direction, which automatically changes your destination.
One of the easiest and simplest ways to change your direction is to have your full effort and concentration be focused on the present moment and the job at hand.
You must more than amply fill your current shoes and naturally outgrow them into something better.
I know and meet so many people, unhappy in their current jobs or situation, that do the bare minimum to just get by or avoid being fired. They’re obviously not engaged or inspired, but also lack the courage to change. They are trapped.
On the other hand I see people constantly change jobs, career and employer while never sticking to one thing for any period of time. They are locked out.
My experience is both these sets of people suffer from the same delusion. That the solution to their problems lie outside of themselves in what they do.
I’d like to suggest that the solution to your problems lie inside of you, not in what you do, but how you do it.
If you would just give 100% focus, energy and attention to your current situation for 30 – 90 days, you may find the whole world looks different.
The key is to do it with a spirit of generosity, well wishing, good cheer and abundant service. It makes everyone you deal with feel great and so will you.
I can assure you that you will look different to the whole world and will be treated differently, plus you’ll be on your way upward.
Resolve right now to lift your game at work. Raise your energy, do more and do it quicker with greater care.
Most importantly, do it with a spirit of service and leave everyone you deal with a notch or two happier than before they met you.
