A note from Stuart Zadel

When I was in the U.S. a while ago I heard an old saying, 'The coldest winter I ever had was the summer in San Francisco'. Well, I bet the person that said that has never been to Bathurst!

Crikey! It's cold here. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

Before I go any further I'd like to share with you a quick video from my recent trip to the Blue Mountains in NSW...

Now where were we?... that's right, cold Bathurst weather ☺

I was on the phone to a friend in Melbourne yesterday and she was saying how cold it was there and I told her it was bloody freezing in Bathurst. All the cars now have a thick frost or cover of ice on them in the morning and the windscreen wipers are frozen to the windshields. I've never seen that before!

I also noticed a couple of other unusual things in my busy life this week. Firstly, I actually heard my first sirens going down the main street of Bathurst today. It's generally a quiet place and in 5 months they're literally the first sirens I've heard. Compared to Cronulla where I used to live, I remember commenting to my brother you hear sirens there just about every night these days.

Another significant contrast is the councils attitude to recycling. There's not one recycling waste bin in town, here in Bathurst. All the homes have recycle bins, but the main shopping centre and streets have absolutely no recycle bins at all. I find that slack.

Finally, there's a nice looking church building across from our office that never seems used but I have seen at least three funerals there in the past week, and I hadn't seen one all year.

I guess what I am saying is that life is passing us by every day, yet most times we're so caught up or distracted we can be in danger of missing it. Remember today to live more life.

Maybe my short video above will give you some ideas... Crikey!

"The secret was brought to my attention by Andrew Carnegie, more than a quarter of a century ago. The canny, lovable old Scotsman carelessly tossed it into my mind, when I was but a boy. Then he sat back in his chair, with a merry twinkle in his eyes, and watched carefully to see if I had brains enough to understand the full significance of what he had said to me."

Weekly Success Tip

Many courses, teachers and self professed gurus suggest 'success' is an informational process. That is, by learning more and more and trying to cram even more information into an already over full mind, one can achieve 'success'.

My experience suggests 'success' is a transformational process achieved more readily by, if anything, taking false or useless information out that you have already learned.

Just as a sculptor reveals an incredibly beautiful statue by chipping away bit by bit to remove what is non essential to uncover the masterpiece, success is also, in fact, about removing what is false, non effective and useless.

Success is a subtraction process rather than an addition game.

Chances are, what you have already learned is probably getting in your own way!

Fumbling along from course to course, this place to that and never giving anything a worthwhile go…believing the grass is greener somewhere else and that opportunity is anywhere but under your nose. Recently I have been quoted as saying 'business is the ultimate personal development path you can choose'. In truth, life is. And it doesn't really matter which path you take, all paths can lead to the truth.

You see, the Truth is something like the centre of a town. It doesn't matter which direction you approach it from, when you eventually get there, (which we all will), we are all in the same place.

My chosen path for personal development is business. It used to be sport. Regardless of what you do the Ultimate Path is in the pursuit or perfection and full concentration in whatever you are now doing, a technique known as KARMAYOGA.

It has nothing to do with WHAT you do, but HOW you do it!

Next week I'll give you specific instruction on how to achieve success with this Ultimate technique. In order to get the most out of it, I strongly suggest you keep a notepad with you this week so you can observe, pay attention to and make notes on how you go about your daily tasks.
